Scooter rental prices in Bali, published.
The short answer: a basic automatic from a street shop runs from around IDR 70K a day and IDR 500K–1.5M a month at the budget end — those are the figures renters quote in the r/bali threads we synthesise. Our own rates are published in full: NMAX 155 at IDR 250K a day or 3.9M a month, ADV 160 at 275K/4.3M, XMAX 250 at 450K/6.5M, and the Honda X-ADV 750 at 2.5M a day or 36M a month.
Every published price includes bike insurance with a capped excess, two helmets, a phone mount, a raincoat and villa delivery under the terms below. There is no deposit of any kind on any rental — no cash held, no card pre-authorisation, no passport kept. What moves the price
Duration moves it most. Daily rates are the ceiling; a week costs less per day than seven days bought singly, and a month is the best rate we publish — the NMAX works out around IDR 130K a day on a monthly rental against 250K walk-up. The other lever is machine class: a 155cc commuter, a 250cc maxi and a 745cc twin are three different propositions, and the rates reflect that.
Monthly rentals are the speciality: renewal is one WhatsApp message, and when a bike is due its 2,000 km service we deliver a replacement rather than leaving you without wheels.

What the market charges (checked August 2026)
We checked the published websites of twelve Bali rental operators on 7 August 2026 and recorded every rate actually shown — Vroam, BikeHouse, Bali Scooters, DC Rental, Soul Bikes, Bike Rental In Bali, Canggu Scooter Bali, Hello Motors, OnBikes, BaliMotion, EasyBike and Soul Motorcycles, plus Bikago, which publishes no prices at all. The table is the spread of those published rates per class; the median is the middle operator, not an average.
Our rates sit at the top of each class we run — deliberately. The gap is what a garage-built unit with upgraded brakes, published terms, no deposit and roadside support that answers actually costs.

Costs to watch for elsewhere
A cheap headline rate can grow. The common additions renters report: a cash deposit or a passport held as security, uncapped damage billing settled by argument, delivery charged both ways without saying so, and late-return penalty rates. Worth asking any operator about all four before you hand over money.
Our answers, for the record: no deposit and no passport, damage capped at a published excess with condition photographed together at handover, delivery fees published and itemised in the quote before you commit, and a late return billed at your own effective rate — not a penalty one. Bikes arrive with a full tank; fuel from there is yours.

The weekly rates: NMAX 1.5M, ADV 1.65M, XMAX 2.7M, X-ADV 15M. A week bought as a week beats seven daily rates — the NMAX saves 250K, a full day's rental — and from seven days delivery is free everywhere we deliver, not just the home zones.
