Written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book rather than after.
Please note · This agreement is a plain-English draft awaiting review by an Indonesian lawyer. It sets out how we actually operate and what we will actually do. It is not a statement of Indonesian law, and where local law says something different, local law wins. Nothing here removes a right you have under Indonesian consumer or personal-data law.
01Who this is between
These terms cover the hire of a motorcycle or scooter from Overrun Moto to you, the named renter, for the dates on your booking confirmation. The person named on the booking is the person responsible for the bike and for these terms.
Only the named renter may ride the bike. If someone else needs to ride it, tell us first and we will add them — an unnamed rider is not covered by the insurance, which is a bad day for everyone.
02Licences
You must hold a licence that is valid for this class of motorcycle in Indonesia, and you must carry it while riding. For most visitors that means an International Driving Permit endorsed for motorcycles, alongside your home licence.
We check your documents in person at handover and hand them straight back. We do not photograph or store them — see our privacy notice.
Riding without a valid licence invalidates the insurance on the bike, and any cost arising from that falls to you rather than to the policy.
03What is included
Two helmets, a phone mount and a raincoat come with every bike. Delivery and collection are included as set out on your booking.
Bike insurance is included — see the excess above; it does not cover the rider. The bike is serviced on a 2,000 km schedule. Roadside support runs from early until late, every day, on the number in your confirmation. Outside those hours leave us a message and we pick it up first thing; if you are in danger, call the emergency services first.
04Insurance and the excess
Damage and theft are covered by the policy on the bike, subject to an excess. The excess for your booking is shown on your confirmation and on the bike's page — it is IDR 500,000 on the core fleet and IDR 1,000,000 on the halo models.
The excess is the most you pay towards a covered claim. It is not a deposit: we take nothing up front and hold no card details.
Cover depends on the bike being ridden lawfully by the named rider. Riding under the influence, without a valid licence, off-road, or outside Bali without telling us falls outside the policy, and in those cases the repair or replacement cost is yours in full.
05Payment
Unless your confirmation says otherwise, you pay on delivery, in cash or by QRIS. There is no deposit and no card pre-authorisation.
Rental days are counted as 24-hour periods from the time of handover, with an hour of grace on the return. Beyond that grace, a further day is charged.
06Fuel
The bike arrives with fuel in it and we ask that you return it at the same level. Both readings are taken from the gauge with you, in eighths, at handover and at return. If it comes back short we charge IDR 30,000 per eighth — the fuel itself plus the ride to the pump — and nothing at all if it comes back the same or fuller. We do not refund fuel you leave in the tank.
07Condition, damage and returns
We photograph the bike together at handover and again at return. Those photographs are the record — they exist so that pre-existing marks are never argued about later.
Tell us about damage as soon as it happens, not at the end of the rental. Small things are usually cheap and quick; the same damage discovered a fortnight later, having been ridden on, often is not.
Normal wear is ours. Damage, loss of a helmet or key, and anything arising from a crash are yours up to the excess.
08Extending, changing and cancelling
You can extend from your booking page or by messaging us, subject to the bike being free afterwards. We reprice the whole rental when you extend, so passing a weekly or monthly threshold gets you that rate — you never pay more than booking the longer period outright.
You can cancel from your booking page while the rental has not started. If money has already changed hands we will confirm any refund with you directly.
If a bike becomes unavailable through breakdown or an overrunning repair, we will offer you a replacement of the same class or better at no extra cost, or a refund of the unused days.
09Where you can ride
The bike is for use on Bali. Taking it on a ferry to another island, or off sealed and maintained roads, needs our agreement first — both affect the insurance.
10Fines and infringements
Traffic fines incurred during your rental are yours. If one reaches us after you have gone, we will send you the paperwork before anything is charged.
11If something goes wrong
Call or message the number in your confirmation, which is staffed from early until late every day. In an accident, prioritise people and call the emergency services first, then tell us — we would far rather hear about it at 2am and answer at 6 than hear about it the following week.
How we handle your personal information is set out separately in our privacy notice. Questions about any of this? Message us — we would rather answer now than argue later.
